Pubblicata dalla Dark Horse Comics, la prima uscita di Legacy è stata rilasciata nel giugno 2006 in seguito al reinizio delle sue serie di Star Wars all'inizio dell'anno. Il suo slogan iniziale era: "Un Ordine Sith completamente nuovo! Un Impero completamente nuovo! Uno Skywalker completamente nuovo!"
