A Secret Revealed is a non-canon video that can be unlocked in God of War, specifically by beating the game on Spartan Mode. It shows the origin of Kratos, a child born out of wedlock in a small village. Shunned by their people due to wild rumors, Kratos and his mother, Callisto, fled to Sparta to start a new life. | - Point out the ship is closer to Tarth than Lorath, thus the tome is sold faster in Tarth.
- Costanze sneers. "What could harm could possibly come from a book?"
- Tell the pirate captain it would be inefficient to sell the tome in Lorath.
- Ask the pirate captain if he means to start a war.
- Insist the tome is a dangerous magical artifact.
- Captain Costanze pries open the old wooden chest, and finds a large tome inside, covered with gold metalwork and jewels. "We'll sell this in Lorath!"
- Costanze looks irritated. "Why do you say that, prisoner? I have many friends in Lorath, and none in Tarth!"
- Point out the book has brought bad luck to all who have touched or examined it.
- Costanze looks incredulous. "What do you mean, prisoner? How would a purloined antique tome possibly start a war?"
- Insist the taking of the tome could lead to betrayal of pacts between great houses.

It shows the origin of Kratos, a child born out of wedlock in a small village. Shunned by their people due to wild rumors, Kratos and his mother, Callisto, fled to Sparta to start a new life. Kratos eventually became captain of the Spartan army, and left his mother behind. Years later, Kratos visited his mother and attempted to discover the identity of his anonymous father. Before she could reveal to him who his father was, she changed into a horrific monster. Driving his blade through his once so-called mother, with her last breath Kratos is told his father was Zeus. Kratos decided to take his revenge on Zeus for having abandoned him and his mother. This may be one of the many reasons why Kratos hates Zeus so much, aside from the events that lay the foundation of the story in God of War II. This video has later been recycled for use in God of War: Ghost of Sparta.
