Melava used to be Marziel's girlfriend, as he himself mentions in the first part of his diary. When Marziel and his three brothers Arthei, Lersatio, and Boreth left their hometown Carlin in order to look for a place that would make them feel at home, she stayed behind to join them the moment they would have found that place and had settled in. Due to unexpected, extraordinary circumstances (which Marziel reports on in later parts of his diary), however, that day never came.
