Quick note…actually found mydelf on the Wolfram Alpha site on my Pre. That might be the first and last time anyone uses that combination…that said, it was easy enough to use and pretty helpful (some integrals for an E&M physics class). Side note: got an email from my 62 year old Mom saying she is interested in the Nook…I don’t think she’s ever heard of the Kindle. Draw your own conclusions. Time to run, Professor is looking at me. Dear Buzz Crew, Barnes and Noble has now posted their FAQ, which is actually a bulletin board where they respond. They say that you will be able to connect to any b and g wireless network. If you are in the store, you will get special offers and reading recommendations, and be able to read any ebook in full-text that they have stocked. If they could enable this for libraries, that would be perfect. My concern is that the government’s definition of “Net Neutrality” and ours/yours is different. I think they’ve hijacked the term. It is my belief that they will apply FCC like content and access controls (they have stated as much) to the internet such as the “fairness doctrine” and “hate speech” rules, turning it into a Government “information”/ propaganda outlet. The devil is in the details and government is very adept at saying one thing and doing something else when the laws and regulation are actually written. I also object to the telcos/cables/satellites being content providers unless they are completely separate from the pipes and the pipes are open at the same price to everyone. At least on principle. But that’s just a money issue. I object more to the government managing and controlling access to the pipes. That's a freedom issue. Sigh… any ideas for another internet like system?
