A later Emperor named Ashoka the Great would be a devout member of the Hindu faith and would drive out the Buddhists from a large city and into the Island of Sumatra where they would establish a bitter rivalry that would lead to war. Other Emperors would drive out rival noble families who would then leave as the Indians tried to establish territories in other continents. These rival families would also bring consequences to the Maurya. When these forces came down on the Maurya Empire the savior of the country would be found in the leader of the Hindu
