Æthelcran or Athelcran (Old English: Æþelcran, Æðelcrān, meaning "noble crane"; c. 727 - 737), nicknamed "the Crane", was a famous Anglo-Saxon druid who lived in Early Medieval times. An Animagus with the ability to turn into a crane, Æthelcran was an adviser and healer in the court of Emperor Charlemagne, although he was most famous for founding the House of Crane.
