The Victory of the River kata was one of the Thousand Years of Steel kata created by Mirumoto Uso and Kakita Kaiten. The relaxation of the mind and body was central to the Mirumoto Swordmasters control, and this kata helped the samurai adapt to the changing tides of warfare. The strikes of the samurai would flow beautifully and cleanly blending ten strikes into one flowing arc of steel. These bold attack however left the defense of the samurai compromised.
