- Shade is Elmo's window shade in "Elmo's World". Shade also opens to the room where the Noodle Family lives. Shade is yellow in the outside but in the inside, the sky is blue and the clouds are white. Most of the time, Shade can be rambunctious and disobedient, which prompts Elmo to coax it to open which it complies.

- A shade is an undead creature, created by black magic. It cannot be harmed except with blessed or silver objects, magic, or artifact weapons with a damage bonus. Orcus Town is the only place where shades appear. If you've gotten this far without an alternative, you can use the Bell of Opening as a silver weapon against them. Unarmed gloveless combat with a silver ring equipped can also work, as can unarmed combat with blessed gloves (although this is very slow.) Shades can also move freely through solid rock, and can see invisible creatures.

Then, void came to him saying he can make him live forever and get revenge on all his ex-co-workers. Now as shade, he has the power to make any room he is in pitch black to scare his victims. All they can see is his deadly red eyes. With the power of 50 men he beats them to death.
- In Brisingr, it was revealed that Shades could also be created by a sorcerer summoning spirits into the body of another, turning the recipient into a Shade. The incantations took several minutes and left the spellcasters vulnerable during the casting. To become a Shade, a humanoid form is not required. Many Shades have been formed, but most Shades self-destruct shortly after creation. Shades which survive the volatile natures of their formation were rare indeed.
- Shade joined back in February 2006, having been lured to the forum by the thought of fanfic reviews. She took to the Text Games almost instantly, followed by the RPG, and posted lots until around May/June 2006. After some disagreements over her partner at the time, she left the forums completely for two years, only keeping in contact with a select few of the members. Near the end of June 08 she made her triumphant return and proceeded with her plans to take over the Text Games once again. And then she left. Again. This article is a . - Shades are disembodied spirits and are similar to ghosts in that they are the spectral remains of a once-living person. These often restless spirits are mostly found in the Plaguelands, other undead-infested areas, and the village surrounding the mysterious tower of Karazhan. Because they do not have a real body, some shades are immune to physical damage. Those that spawn unattended tend to avoid living creatures and have weak combat skills. However, they have keen perception to see things with true sight and can be very loyal to those who befriend them. (MG 120-121)

- The shade is the strangest monster in the game. It does not reveal its own attributes, class, race, skills, or drop figurines/cards of its own in most of the encounters. Shades instead randomly take the race and class of another monster (except named monsters), with the rest of its characteristics filling out. They also have randomly generated equipment and items while imitating, meaning if you assign one as your breeder at a ranch, you may spawn some extremely powerful allies, items, cards/figurines, or even corpses.
- Cienie to bezcielesne istoty podobne do duchów, które są eterycznymi pozostałościami niegdyż żywych osób. - The Shade is a slime unit you will be able to create after defeating 20 Shade units, which are first encountered in Episode 3: Monetopia - Gentle Brook. It is a magic-orientated unit with great SPD and good INT but very low HP, ATK, and DEF. It will also eventually learn all 4 tiers of one of the three base elemental skills. While not proficient in any skill class it is reasonable with Magic and dabbles in all other fields. It's best suited to magic type weapons like books.
- Shade is a born spy and exceeds at her job. She stays in the shadows using the information she gathers about others to her own advantage. Those who betray her often live to regret it when she reveals what she knows. In robot mode Shade is virtually unarmed, possessing only a small pistol and disruptor to defend herself with. In her large spider mode Shade can use her many legs to slash away at her opponents. She can also attain stable flight in this mode, reaching speeds of up to 350 MPH. Her miniature spider mode is not very well defended, but her small size makes her a difficult target to hit. In her large spider mode Shade can detect and read nearly any radio message, and in her miniature mode she is virtually undetectable due to her tiny form. Unfortunately, all three of her forms are
- Shades (like ghosts) are the souls of departed humans. Unlike ghosts; they are not bound to the mortal realm by some curse. Instead; they pass on to the next world/s naturally. They can return to the world only if there are enough ghosts and phantoms (with whom they are closely related) occupying the same haunt. This creates a sort of doorway between both worlds, allowing the shades to come over into the world (but not to leave the haunt). This results in the spawning of poltergeists (a mischiefess species of which can breed). Also; the more shades move into a haunt, the bigger the haunt becomes. It is an interesting symbiotic relationship.
- 'BG-Shade is a type of background that makes any kind of element or object show a shadow with a color based on its own base coloration in BG-non. Unlike BG-air, BG-line, BG-aura and BG-mesh, BG-shade does not display a graphical illustration of wind- or air movement. If objects are moving while BG-shade is on, a slowly fading trail will be following the object's movement. The trail's fade time is approximately half a second.
