The EWE World Heavyweight Championship is one of two main championships in the EWE, along with the EWE Championship and was established by the EWE in 2005. The championship has been largely defended under the Blackened (formerly Xplosion) brand until March 2010 when then-champion Xavier was traded to Overkill (formerly Thunder) as part of the '2010 Reshape'. Under Xavier's reign, the belt was redesigned as is customary with the promotion where any champion who holds a belt for a consecutive year gets to keep that beltand a new design is brought in.
