John Bartley, also credited as John S. Bartley, is a director of photography, also known as cinematographer, who worked on all six seasons of Lost. He is a member of ASC, the American Society of Cinematographers, as well as CSC and ICG [1]. | - "When I shot The X Files, we blended light and darkness so the audience saw some things, but wasn’t sure whether they saw other things. That added to the aura of mystery. For Lost, we strive for a lot of color saturation, particularly greens. There are also campfire scenes with saturated red tones lighting the darkness, and flash-forward and flashback sequences weaved into each episode. "

Bartley also co-hosted a seminar at the 2009 Hawaii International Film Festival with Zack Grobler, Jim Triplett, and Michael Crowe, entitled "Master Class: "Bringing the Design of Each Episode Together". Bartley is also known for being cinematographer for the television series The X-Files from 1993 through 1996.[2]
