The Margay-class stealth exfiltration craft is the successor to a number of different craft employed by the UNSC Navy's special warfare branches, and was developed as a direct replacement for the Black Cat-class Sub-Prowler. Introduced in 2557, the Margay's make use of innovations in stealth technology and slipspace manipulation to produce a craft superbly designed for its role - covert infiltration of a planet bypassing its orbital defences and forces, evasion of enemy ground forces through a combination of optical camouflage and radar-absorbent/refractive materials, and expedited exfiltration of friendly forces.
