The EDR470 features a luthite body mated to a maple neck with a 22-fret rosewood fingerboard with dot inlays. Components include Ibanez Axis pickups in an HSH configuration, a double locking tremolo bridge and a locking nut. The EDR470 was a more deluxe version of the initial Ergodyne model, the EDR260, which had been released the previous year. The EDR470 was discontinued after 2001 when the EDR470EX was introduced.
