Administrators and bureaucrats are a necessary part of the structure of a wiki, and new ones need to be added on occasion to keep up with wiki growth and user turnover. Both positions are only granted on an as needed basis, and never as a reward for work or as a symbol of status. Although becoming an admin boosts one's rank on the wiki, never try to become an admin simply for a title. Bureaucrat assignments are far less common since their role only consists of assigning and revoking sysop privileges. There only needs to be enough bureaucrats to have at least one active at any given time. Administrator, or sysop assignments are more common but still relatively rare.
