The Comprehensive Data Systems Program (CDSP) was launched in 1972 by LEAA. This program financed the development of State systems to standardize, integrate, and centralize the assembly and processing of criminal justice statistical data. Each system included capability to track offenders through the criminal justice process and exchange criminal history records with other jurisdictions.
