| - Advertising that we make up quotes is amusing once, (and horribly abused now) but killing the joke on every other page. Beat as this template beats our quote-creation-humor like a dead horse. 01:18, 6 Dec 2005 (UTC) Yeah, kill it. --Cap'n Sir Ben GUN WotM VFH VFP 13:06, 6 Dec 2005 (UTC) Keep I created it. It's simply there to link the "Making up quotes" pages together. If your reason for wanting to delete this is that you don't like the making up quotes pages, then put them all on VFD. This template replaced long lists of "See Also" and "Related Articles" links on lots of pages in the "Making up quotes" series. I don't think that having the articles designated for the making up of quotes has that much to do with there being too many quotes on other pages. I think moving alot of the crappy quotes off of actual non-"Making up quotes" articles to "Making up quotes" pages would be a better solution. Perhaps an even better idea than that would be to start an UnQuote, similar to UnDictionary, to spoof Wikiquote and move all the content of the "Making up quotes" pages there. --Nerd42 19:55, 6 Dec 2005 (UTC) Now I know we don't get along, and I don't want to seem like a softie or say anything positive about you, but that's one damn good idea. I mean, if someone else had come up with it. For adding yet another useles appendage to Uncyclopedia, and moving all the "making up quotes" stuff to Uncyclopedia:QuoteUnquote. I'm going to hack a page up there now, since I'm feeling ambitious. 01:25, 7 Dec 2005 (UTC) KILL! KILL! KILL! KILL! KILL! KILL! KILL! KILL! - --Steve "Heeeere's Johnny" Ballmer 20:20, 6 Dec 2005 (UTC) (offtopic flamefest moved to User talk:JohnnyRaven 01:16, 8 Dec 2005 (UTC)) I've just moved it off all the main article pages, leaving a single wiki link to the related making up quotes pages. The template still exists on the making up quotes pages and it stays that way, it might be ok to leave it be. However, if it makes it back onto any of the main article pages, I will go back to being pro-nukes. -- 18:11, 7 Dec 2005 (UTC) Organize Dominating the pages -- Unfortunately true. Could that be fixed by redesigning the template to be smaller? I think it would be good if this particular series of pages was very organized, (I am making no statements about the site in general here) so that people could easily navigate between the different people. --Nerd42 15:50, 7 Dec 2005 (UTC) I have changed the format of the template so that (hopefully) it is less threatening. Take a look. --Nerd42 16:20, 7 Dec 2005 (UTC) It's still huge, so even though it's a little sleeker, the problem still exists. I think that there's a good solution to this whole issue, namely put the template on making up quotes pages but not articles about things that are quoted. On the article about the quotee, a single line can be used, as in See Also -> Making up somebody or other quotes. This way, the interlinking will be preserved and there will be no page domination as only a single line will be used. I'm going to go about so implementing and then I'm going to change my vote. -- 17:36, 7 Dec 2005 (UTC) OK then. I'm happy with this. I think the Uncyclopedia has now been made better. :) You might want, however, to make sure the biography articles are all still categorized as . --Nerd42 18:19, 7 Dec 2005 (UTC) I went and did that .... so, uh, what do you think now, Famine and Cap'n Ben? --Nerd42 21:16, 7 Dec 2005 (UTC) 1 - it's unnecessary, since people wanting to go from one making up quotes page to another can just go via Catergory:People for wom quotes are made up. 2 - It's still horribly large and unweildy. 3 - Don't be a drama queen. I could understand you getting upset if we talking about huffing some long article that you put a lot of thought and effort into; we're talking about a template. Just get over it. --Cap'n Sir Ben GUN WotM VFH VFP 22:55, 7 Dec 2005 (UTC) I'm not upset. :) The trouble with is that very few people would know that -- who's going to click a category -- especially if it's only one of the fifteen-or-so categories the article is in -- whereas if there's a list of links there to the other "Making up quotes" pages, it becomes much easier to navigate, and people realize there are other pages out there besides Making up Oscar Wilde quotes. --Nerd42 23:39, 7 Dec 2005 (UTC) Nerd, you still miss the entire fucking point - why are we advertising that the quotes are made up? They are not made up. They are true. 112% true. Mislableing them is inappropriate and irresponsible. Not to mention that lots of people click on categories, based on the amount of reverts I have to do to category pages. Check out Wikiquote so you can help me parody it well at Uncyclopedia:QuoteUnquote. The quotes are real, and we need to make sure that we tell people that. Let us leave behind the silliness of Uncyclopedia and create something which will benefit the world. 00:06, 8 Dec 2005 (UTC) Wow! Uncyclopedia:QuoteUnquote looks awesome! but wouldn't it be better/easier to just call it UnQuote? Like UnDictionary? --Nerd42 00:35, 8 Dec 2005 (UTC) So ... I'm assuming this template will eventually be replaced by something QuoteUnquoteish ... till then it will stay then ... right? or is this vote still going on or what? --Nerd42 22:11, 13 Dec 2005 (UTC)
