Synopsis
  • Superboy visits Tana Moon at work and despite her protests, flies her off to a secluded spot so they can talk about their relationship. Tana is furious that he did it and says that he lacks any maturity or responsibility whatsoever--that he's acting like a kid, in short. SB decides to prove to her how grown up he really is by tracking down Silver Sword, who is still on the loose. Meanwhile, on a beach nearby, Dubbilex has perfected a psychic disguise which makes him appear as a normal human to others. At Roxy's encouraging, he bumps into a woman named Anya, and they seem to click right away. Superboy returns to the Kilaue volcano to recover the gem for the Spear of Lona, lost there since his first battle with Scavenger. Silver Sword happens to be there, also to reclaim the gem, which he claims is for his mistress, a goddess. Recovering the gem, SS uses the Spear against Superboy. The Kid manages to wrench it away and takes flight. Silver Sword goes after, but the Kid outwits him: since SS is covered in animetal, which has been superheated by the volcano, he dumps Silver Sword in the ocean which shatters the metal. The Kid can't find him in the drink. The Kid takes the spear back to the beach, but finds not Tana, but a "dear john" letter, confirming what he was afraid of -- Tana is breaking up with him.
