Many basalt platforms found in this level bob (bounce up and down, definition gotten from thesaurus.com) up and down constantly in the lava. Some basalt platforms even sink completely into the lava. However, the basalt platforms that sink completely into the lava are a reddish color and have many streaks of magma on them, as seen in the picture above to the very left of the Fireball. Also, since these basalt platforms that sink completely into the lava end up entering the lava and coming out, they will have a point where they are still hot and must cool off. If the Kongs (Donkey Kong and Diddy Kong) land on a basalt platform that is still hot, they will get burned and lose a Heart . However, to tell a hot basalt platform, one should look at the color of the platform's top (or you can call it "it's surface"). A basalt platform that is hot will have a surface that is a yellowish orange color. Some platforms and structures found in Bobbing Basalt sink completely in the lava and never rise back out too! Uh oh! What does that mean? Yep, THE HEROES SHOULD QUICKLY GET OFF THESE PLATFORMS/STRUCTURES BEFORE THEY CARRY THEM INTO THE LAVA!!! Anyway, other obstacles found in Bobbing Basalt include many Fireballs that either jump out of the lava and fall back into it constantly, much like the Podoboos of the Mario series, or move in an odd, quite zig-zaglike pattern above certain platforms before colliding into them. Shortly after the letter N of the K-O-N-G Letters, near the end of the level, there is a long line of Fireballs that jump out of the lava and fall back into it very close to one another. To safely get past these Fireballs, the Kongs would have to slowly run underneath them as they jump/fall. Enemies in this level other than Fireballs include Tiki Goons, Tiki Dooms and Squeeklies. In Time Attack mode, a time of 1:23:00 is needed to get a gold medal, a time of 1:45:00 for a silver medal and a time of 2:00:00 for a bronze medal.
