Mark Schilz was a Lieutenant in the Navy who was assigned as a disbursing officer to the U.S.S. Eisenhower back in 1994. It was originally thought that he had disappeared with a million dollars stolen from the ship's safe but it was later discovered that he had been murdered and framed for the crime he'd supposedly committed after his body was discovered in a half-buried cargo pod by a Deer Hunter. Due to the conditions regarding Schilz's body which involved Schilz lying inside a sealed cargo pod had in fact caused his remains to become so mummified that he actually resembled a mummy.

abstract
  • Mark Schilz was a Lieutenant in the Navy who was assigned as a disbursing officer to the U.S.S. As a result of his disappearance, Schilz was presumed to be guilty of the theft and was in absence, dishonorably discharged from the Navy which meant that Schilz's wife, Mary Wiles and their newborn daughter, Alicia Wiles did not get Schilz's death benefits as a result. Mary soon had her former husband declared dead after six years and later remarried her husband's former shipmate, Randy Wiles, unaware that the two had served together in the past. Thanks to the efforts of Special Agent Leroy Jethro Gibbs and his team, Mark Schilz's reputation was cleared and his wife and daughter presumably received his death benefits from the Navy after a ten-year delay.
