| - Every MU* has its own style and etiquette for roleplay. While we recognize that every player will have his own approach to roleplay, this wiki entry is intended to describe a number of things that will generally be considered rude, or otherwise frowned upon, as well as some things that are considered polite. Some of these "do's and don't's" contradict etiquette on other MU*es; when playing here, though, please try to respect our etiquette.
- Etiquette (Awareness, Intelligence) Etiquette is the skill of those characters who know what to say and how to say it. Any people of less station who is treated politely will be more dutiful, more willing to serve, and more loyal to their lord. It is considered a High and Social Skill.

Members of the club are very forgiving if you don’t follow everything to the letter, but you are expected to make an effort. Part of the fascination of the game is its rich history, so keeping the traditions of the game alive is a high priority for many members. - In game terms, any common courtesy or polite behavior which is not enforced by the game, GMs, EULA or TUA. Good etiquette is often expected in most social situations. The role-playing rules on RP servers are not etiquette as breaking them is punishable by a GM. However, some of the role-playing rules are based on etiquette.

Breaches of Etiquette can result in serious ramifications and can result in your Standing within the Invictus to be affected. In Invictus Courts all members of that Court, regardless of Clan or Covenant, are required to address the Invictus using the following etiquette. You may approach a harpy at any appropriate time with business regardless of standing, terms of address still apply.

In some games, etiquette might only be optional, but in WoW, players generally tend to encourage others to use etiquette to improve the joyfulness of general gaming process. This is especially true on RP servers, where breaking etiquette is akin to hacking or griefing, and is punishable by a GM. In retrospect, some of the role-playing rules might be eased if proper etiquette is respected by the breaker.

A Victorian dowager could spot the ill manners of a nouveau riche American from five hundred yards, and could wed her youngest daughter to him before he'd finished his third cucumber sandwich. But such social skills did not come easily. Young children were educated not only in the skills necessary to exploit the natives of darker skinned nations - Ancient Greek and Rhetoric - but also in the social rules and expectations that would allow them to recognise a well scrubbed pleb in a dinner jacket and send him back to the gutter before he contaminated the syllabub. From day one a Victorian child was groomed for a world of top hats and feathered fans, where a gentleman would always hold the door and a lady would never be seen picking up her own gloves even assuming the whale bones in her corset allowed her to bend. No matter how "out-dated" some of their rules may seem today, the laws of etiquette are there for the benefit of everyone. Would we not all be happier if the working class still worked and the Chinese knew their place - the laundry? For those of you that long for an era long gone by, here are some of the most useful tips for social etiquette that will allow you to stand apart from the common herd, to destroy that herd with a Maxim gun and have it made into a matching hat, coat and gloves.
