Mamo was the Russian entry at the 2009 Contest performed by Anastasiya Prikhodko. The song was performed in Russian and Ukrainian - Ukrainian being the first and so far only time the language was used in a Russian entry. As Russia hosted the 2009 Contest, they did not have to participate in a semi-final. It was performed 10th in the final, following Armenia and preceding Azerbaijan, both neighbouring countries. After the close of voting, the song finished just outside the top ten, placing 11th with 91 points.
