The Imcando pickaxe has the same mining speed as a dragon pickaxe, but has a boosted speed within the Lava Flow Mine. When used to mine ore, it has a 25% chance of instantly incinerating the ore, which grants Smithing experience equivalent to smelting that ore (coal grants experience equivalent to smelting steel) in addition to the Mining experience for mining it. Like the inferno adze, no resources are received if the incineration effect activates, which can reduce the need to travel to a bank.

abstract
  • The Imcando pickaxe has the same mining speed as a dragon pickaxe, but has a boosted speed within the Lava Flow Mine. The incineration effect will not occur when mining materials that cannot be smelted, such as rune essence, granite, or red sandstone. It also will not activate on ores mined from divine locations. The incineration effect can apply to extra ores produced by the Varrock armour, but both ores still have an individual 25% chance of being incinerated, so the effect may activate on one or both ores. The effect can also trigger on corrupted ore mined from Seren stones in Prifddinas, immediately granting the 150 Smithing experience earned normally from a furnace. However, when the Voice of Seren is active in the Trahaearn district the Smithing experience from incinerating the ore is not boosted by 20% (to 180) like it is when the Trahaearn furnace is used. Only the Mining portion of the experience is boosted. The incineration effect also does not trigger on corrupted ores found while mining harmonised rocks that appear while the Voice of Seren is active, only the standard ores received from those rocks can be affected. The Imcando pickaxe is first received from Thurgo as a fully-charged enchanted version, the Imcando pickaxe (e), which grants 20% bonus Mining experience until it runs out of charges and reverts back into a standard Imcando pickaxe. A charge is consumed for each successful Mining action. The pickaxe can be recharged by the geyser random event in the Lava Flow Mine. If a player is carrying an Imcando pickaxe with them (equipped or not) when they finish mining a geyser, no additional pickaxe fragments will be received. Instead, the Imcando pickaxe in their possession will be restored to the maximum number of charges (100). However, if a player leaves their Imcando pickaxe in the bank, then they will continue receiving pickaxe fragments from geysers instead. By collecting multiples of each fragment, it is possible to create multiple Imcando pickaxes (although there is no practical reason to do so). If the player is carrying multiple Imcando pickaxes, a lava geyser will only recharge one of them. Imcando pickaxes stack in the bank when uncharged, but enchanted Imcando pickaxes do not stack even if all are at the same charge level. If both an enchanted and unenchanted Imcando pickaxe are carried at the same time, the enchanted version will be used for mining unless the player intentionally equips the unenchanted one. If a player is carrying both an Imcando pickaxe and a standard pickaxe in their inventory or tool belt, the Imcando pickaxe will always be used for mining by default. Equipping another pickaxe to the main hand slot is the only way to use it over an Imcando pickaxe. If the other pickaxe is being stored on the tool belt, there is no way to use it while carrying an Imcando pickaxe, equipped or not. This applies to pickaxes of any tier, including the crystal pickaxe, as well as the inferno adze. The Imcando pickaxe cannot be reverted to a dragon pickaxe by any straightforward means, but it can used in place of a dragon pickaxe for the creation of a crystal pickaxe. If the player asks Lady Ithell to revert their crystal pickaxe it will be changed back into a standard, non-gilded dragon pickaxe. As usual, the 4,000 harmonic dust required for creating the crystal pickaxe will not be refunded. If a player decides to have Nastroth reset their Defence level to 1, the Birthright of the Dwarves quest will be reset and the Imcando pickaxe will revert back into a dragon pickaxe. When killed in the Wilderness and holding it in the inventory or wielding it, on drop it will remain as an Imcando Pickaxe and not revert to gold or any other item. * Experience from incinerating gold ore does not stack with goldsmith gauntlets. * The Imcando pickaxe does work against the armour of the TokTz-Ket-Dill and the TokHaar-Ket-Dill.
  • It has an increased mining rate within the Lava Flow Mine and the same speed as a dragon pickaxe elsewhere. Unlike the dragon pickaxe and gilded dragon pickaxe, the Imcando pickaxe cannot be placed in the tool belt. When the Imcando pickaxe is used to mine ore, it has a 1/4 chance of instantly incinerating the ore, rewarding Smithing experience equivalent to smelting that ore, in addition to the mining experience for mining it. Similar to the Inferno adze, any incinerated resource is destroyed immediately. The incineration effect will not occur when mining materials that cannot be smelted, such as rune essence or granite. This special effect does apply to extra ores the Varrock armour may produce, however, you still only have a 1/4 chance of incinerating the extra ore. When first made, the Imcando pickaxe has 100 enchantment points. Every time you mine something with it successfully, it grants 20% additional mining experience at the cost of one enchantment point. The 20% bonus experience stacks with other experience boosts. Charges can be regained through mining a lava geyser in the Lava Flow Mine again. Only 1 geyser has to be mined to obtain all 100 charges again. The appearance of the pickaxe changes depending on whether or not it is enchanted with the enchanted pickaxe having a particle effect and a depleted pickaxe with no particle effect. When an Imcando pickaxe is present in a player's inventory, at the end of a geyser, no other pieces of the pickaxe will be dropped; instead, all of the charges of the pickaxe will be restored. When killed in the Wilderness and holding it in the inventory or wielding it, on drop it will remain as an Imcando Pickaxe and not revert to gold or any other item. The Imcando pickaxe can be reverted to a dragon pickaxe by having Lady Ithell in Prifddinas change the Imcando pickaxe into a crystal pickaxe, and then revert the crystal pickaxe into a dragon pickaxe. However, this requires 4,000 harmonic dust which will not be refunded, and the dragon pickaxe will not be gilded. Alternatively, if you meet the conditions, you may have Nastroth reset your Defence level to 1. Doing this will reset several quests and rewards, including Birthright of the Dwarves, and will revert your Imcando pickaxe back into a dragon pickaxe. * The Imcando pickaxe's 20% bonus experience does not apply to divine rock locations. * The Imcando pickaxe's 20% bonus experience does not apply while mining coal for Managing Miscellania. * The Imcando pickaxe's 20% bonus experience does not apply while mining a Lava geyser within the Lava-Flow Mine. * The Imcando pickaxe's 20% bonus experience does apply to crashed stars during the Shooting Star D&D. * Experience from incinerating gold ore does not stack with goldsmith gauntlets. * The Imcando pickaxe does work against the armour of the TokTz-Ket-Dill and the TokHaar-Ket-Dill.
