I think she was talking about the buzzard-wasps, but then again, she could have been talking about both the rocks and the Buzzard-wasps. She was talking about the buzzard-wasps. She is always shown throwing rocks in the air at targets, so she should have no doubt where her own rocks are; they are made of earth. I think she heard Mai's knives. When you're blind, you can hear a lot better.

  • In "The Desert", when Toph said: "Sorry, I can’t tell where they are in the air!" Did she mean the rocks or the buzzard-wasps

  • I think she was talking about the buzzard-wasps, but then again, she could have been talking about both the rocks and the Buzzard-wasps. She was talking about the buzzard-wasps. She is always shown throwing rocks in the air at targets, so she should have no doubt where her own rocks are; they are made of earth. She meant rocks in an episode when she nearly hit one of her team Avatar buddies! How did she see Mai's knives? When she can not see what is in the air, and the same for the Earth Rumble Arena fight(two on the rotating disc and one on a rope, and she made all three collide. She projected rocks at the Fire Nation airships too. There are many gaps - she can feel vibration (sysemicsense), anything not in contact with the ground is invisible! Though she may hear them just as any normal person can I think she heard Mai's knives. When you're blind, you can hear a lot better.
