Aleksandr Vladimirovich Slastin (born 12 June 1942) is a Russian actor, best known for portraying General Vasily Chuikov in the 2004 film Downfall. Since 1961 he was a professional actor with several theatre troupes in the Soviet Union. In 1968, Slastin became a permanent member of the Leningrad Music Hall. That same year he made his film debut as Galitsky in Knyaz Igor (1972). Aleksandr Slastin was designated the title of Honorable Artist of Russia. He is best known for the leading role in 'Banditsky Peterburg' (2000) a popular Russian TV series.

In 1991 he appeared in the German made-for-TV film Die junge Katahrina. He also starred in the Italian production Lo conosciuto. His most known appearance is in the 2004 film Der Untergang, where he played the role of General Vasily Chuikov. The scene where he appears was reduced to almost half in the Theatrical edition, but in the Extended edition, it is unedited. Aleksandr Slastin has been a permanent member of Baltiysky Dom Theatre in St. Petersburg, Russia. He worked there with known Russian actors, such as Era Ziganshina, Tatyana Piletskaya, Irina Konopatskaya, Klavdiya Belova, Nadezhda Maltseva, Regina Lialeikite, Natalya Popova, Nataliya Nesterova, Roman Gromadsky, Igor Tikhonenko, Vladimir Tykke, and other notable Russian actors. Aleksandr currently lives in St. Petersburg, Russia.
