| - The ODF began when, then Grey Jedi Knight, Jaecyn Riddick stole an Imperial Type-II Star Destroyer from the Imperial Junkyard, just prior to the battle in which Kashyyyk would become a nigh permanent stronghold for the Sith. Since then, it was the goal of Master Riddick to create a force that would deter the Sith from ever wanting to set foot on Ossus, as they had done when Riddick's family was killed. The entire force, first time around, would number almost 3,200 ships, of which the Ferrin Sha would be one of, just before a Galactic Fleet Authority Stipulation required that the number of all fleets in the galaxy be cut. With that stipulation, the ODF, which was regarded as one of the better and larger forces throughout the galaxy, was severely decimated, without a shot being fired.

For several years, the only ship permitted to serve in the ODF was the Ferrin Sha, as all others had to be mothballed. It was during this time that the Mandalorians, corrupted by sith agents, struck at Ossus. Since Ossus was in a compromised state, due to the GFA, and few allies came to aid Ossus in the face of a well unified Mandalorian threat, the battle was lopsided, but eventually Ossus was returned. Since then, the ODF Navy, and indeed the rest of the force, has been rebuilt with more advanced ships and equipment than it had started out with. The starfighters that had served in the ODF Fighter Command since the first major swelling of the Navy still serve in the current iteration of the ODF, with upgrades to go with the new ships. Most notably upgrading from XJ-7 X-Wings to XJ-9s, as well as a local reengineering drive to upgrade the Mk IV E-Wing to the Mk V, a new breed of starfighter of Ossan doing.
