A Rera Aphid is a type of aphid insect that only appeared in the Season 7 episode "A Long Tale For Grandpa". It is a voracious and destructive type of pest that comes out to feed in swarms once every 800 years and tries to eat everything in the forest, even the Smurf Village. Despite being simple insects, they seem to be a bit intelligent, able to do many resourceful things to ensure a successful feeding and unlike regular aphids, their appetites and eating abilities are far more superior, able to eat not only vegetation, but books, building materials and even houses.

In "A Long Tale For Grandpa", Grandpa travels with a few Smurfs in his magic balloon to Thunder Island to obtain the juice from the Thunder Tree to defeat the rera aphids. Upon his return to the village, Grandpa sprayed the juice on the rera aphids from his balloon, and they left the village and were never seen again.
