| - Saludos Amigos, dont le titre signifie Bonjour les Amis en espagnol, est à la fois la première compilation de Disney et le premier film à être diffusé en Amérique latine avant de l'être aux États-Unis. Le terme compilation désigne ici le regroupement de courts métrages d'animation afin d'avoir une durée totale proche des longs métrages.

The credits music with the same name plays for the most part of the review) Doug (vo): I'll be honest, when I was looking through the list of Disney animated films and I came across Saludos Amigos, I never even heard of it. I thought I knew most of the Disney hand drawn films, but this one totally slipped my mind. And to be fair, there's kind of a good reason. It's not very long, I don't even think it's really a full-length motion picture, I think it's about forty minutes. And on top of that, it's just sort of a weird premise.

In a time during World War II, Disney was sent to South America to create a movie as a gesture of good will (read up on The Good Neighbor Policy for more information on that). The plan was initially to simply release a series of shorts, but when it was worried that a specific short would only be popular in the country it was about, it was decided to package several together in a feature film. It was released in the United States on February 6, 1944. It garnered mixed reviews and was only reissued once, in 1949, when it was shown on a double bill with the first reissue of Dumbo.
