Ronald Sands was a Masadan citizen and a member of the Church of Humanity Unchained. In 1892 PD, he served as spymaster of Masada, and was present for the negotiations with a delegation from the Star Kingdom of Manticore. When the Sisterhood of Barbara attempted to escape aboard the Aaron's Rod, he asked the Manticorans to assist his people in retaking the ship. (HHA4.1: PL) In 1903 PD, Sands held the rank of Deacon, and was still Masada's spymaster. Sands was the youngest person to attain the rank of Deacon. Sands attended a meeting at Chief Elder Thomas Simonds' house.
