  • Clarkson was a Democratic candidate for President of the United States in 2006, receiving votes in the Iowa caucuses and New Hampshire primary. During the Iowa caucus, Clarkson attended a Corn Expo and spoke after Hoynes and Russell, but before Santos. ("King Corn") His campaign picked up little media coverage and he dropped out after Super Tuesday's result, with him showing a meager and weak 4%. It is assumed he would have endorsed Santos or Russell, but seeing as the press never covered this it seems difficult to envision the relevance of his support. Due to the lack of relevance and overall trite meaning of the campaign, none of his staff aside from himself are known to the general public.
