The G.F.S. Valhalla was an Olympus-Class battleship that was attacked by Space Pirates during a training mission at the Klar Nebula in the Gaflar System. The Pirates had devastated the ship, slaughtered her crew and stole the ship's Aurora Unit, designated Unit 313. After collecting their prize, the Valhalla was abandoned and left adrift in the nebula.

- G.F.S. Valhalla is the flagship of the 13th Fleet; her home port is planet Tivus. While on a recent training mission, the Valhalla was attacked by Space Pirates. Her final fate is unknown, though she is currently considered lost in action. Data indicates that Aurora Unit 313 was taken from the Valhalla as well.

The savagery of the attack was remarkable, even for Space Pirates. Equally unusual is that they left behind valuable components frequently stolen in prior Space Pirate raids. A ship as formidable as the Valhalla had never before been attacked by the Space Pirates, suggesting mobilization and organization never before experienced. The bodies of the crew often cover consoles and may be destroyed by Samus if she fires at their bodies with her beam. All they stole was an Aurora Unit — 313. The wreck of the G.F.S. Valhalla can be visited by Samus in Corruption, where it is found in the Gaflar System. It has been overrun by Phazon creatures such as Phazon Grubs and Phaz-Ing. Although the location of this ship is accessible midway through the game (shortly after retrieving the Screw Attack), it cannot be fully explored until a certain amount of Energy Cells are collected.

The Pirates had devastated the ship, slaughtered her crew and stole the ship's Aurora Unit, designated Unit 313. After collecting their prize, the Valhalla was abandoned and left adrift in the nebula. Though the ship had suffered severe damage, and many of its areas are even exposed to the cold void of space, most of its systems still operated in some sections. However, most of the facilities were underpowered and could not be operated. By plugging Energy Cells into power sockets, these facilities could be reactivated and allow access to other parts of the Valhalla. The ship is overrun with Phazon-based or Phazon-mutated creatures, such as Phazon Metroids and Phaz-Ing, and many rooms are infested with Phazon growths. These creatures were most likely used by the Space Pirates during the attack. Because of them, exploring the Valhalla is extremely dangerous.
