| - They can be placed to light up areas on floors, walls or ceilings and will look a little different depending to how they have been placed. In areas that have been lit properly, no Treasure Chests nor aggressive night creatures will spawn.Moss Torches are your first kind of lighting in Creativerse, and a starting-recipe in your crafting menu (to open with "Q" as the default key or by clicking on "crafting" in the top left corner of your inventory). Moss Torches can also be found in Stone Treasure Chests in the Fossil layer underground / in caves, spawning in darkness mainly on Bedrock; they can as well be obtained as a loot or pet-harvest from ordinary blue Keepas. To craft Moss Torches at once, you'll need (as of R26 in December 2016):
* 1x Moss either taken from birch-like Ashenwood-trees in Woodlands, Grassland, valleys of Mountains, or later on from Weepwood-trees in Swamplands (no Power Cell needed
* 1 block of Wood or Log of any kind Do not try to collect Coal too early in the game to craft Coal Torches. Even though Coal Torches are significantly brighter than Moss Torches, it's much easier for beginners to craft a lot of Moss Torches from any kind of Wood and Moss from Ashenwood-trees than using Coal Torches too soon. So you don't necessarily need to search for a lot of Coal early on in Creativerse, different from Minecraft. Better safe a bit of the rare Coal that you will obtain early in the game for the much needed Stone Mining Cells! Attention: as with all open fire, be careful when putting Moss Torches on or especially under inflammable blocks or plants that can burn. Some blocks like Shredded Leaves or most of all liquid Tar can burn very easily even in cold environments. Within hot environments like Savannahs or Lava layer, also fresh tree-leaves of all kind, all kinds of Wood, Tallgrass, Shrubs, Thatched Walls, carpets and nearly every kind of crafted wood-blocks will burn. This fire is able to spread to other nearby inflammable blocks and in such ways can burn down a whole tree or even a whole grove of trees without a means to stop the fire from spreading (yet). Blocks that burn will vanish quickly, and touching the fire can also deal damage to your player-character. You can put Moss Torches safely on display like on Wall Shelves where they will be displayed in a smaller size, but there they will not light up the area around well.
