Dr. James Von der Heydt, the nephew of the Alaskan federal judge James Arnold von der Heydt, is an American author, mainly known for his book, "At the Brink of Infinity". In addition to his writing, Von der Heydt has lectured History and law at Harvard University and served as the resident dean of Winthrop House in 2006. During his tenure at Harvard, Von der Heydt wrote several articles for The Harvard Crimson, most notably his lengthy "A Jeremiad for an American School", which discusses the importance of contributing academically to both the American community and the Global community, neither to the exclusion of the other.
