The Free Democrats Leadership Election 3915 was held following the resignation of Emily Creasy as leader due to poor health, following the death of her mother and work related stress. Creasy didn't stay on as leader while the election took place, for those reasons too. Two candidates put their names forward, Christian Mulcair who had replaced Creasy as Minister of Internal Affairs, and Anthony Kendall who was the Minister of Foreign Affairs at the time.

  • The Free Democrats Leadership Election 3915 was held following the resignation of Emily Creasy as leader due to poor health, following the death of her mother and work related stress. Creasy didn't stay on as leader while the election took place, for those reasons too. Two candidates put their names forward, Christian Mulcair who had replaced Creasy as Minister of Internal Affairs, and Anthony Kendall who was the Minister of Foreign Affairs at the time. The campaign was relatively short, and didn't generate much excitement outside of the Free Democrat circles, although senior figures in the Conservative Party and Liberal Alliance took interest as all three were currently in a coalition government, and the new leader could change the direction of the coalition or possibly walk out of it.
