The Arctic Spawn lives on planet Arcterra and is featured in Metroid Prime Hunters. Samus encounters the Arctic Spawn during her exploration of the Alimbic Cluster, and she must defeat it to gain the Imperialist, a sniping weapon. As a cold-adapted creature, it is highly resistant to cold damage, but conversely weak against heat-based weaponry, such as the Magmaul. It appears to be genetically similar to the heat-acclimated Fire Spawn.

  • An Arctic Spawn is a species found in the Nintendo DS video game Metroid Prime Hunters. As its name implies, it is native to colder regions. They are extremely territorial, and will attack anyone who disturbs them. Apparently they need to live in places with low temperatures, or else they would die. They attack by shooting out powerful and potentially fatal shards of ice at their opponents, and can be found in Arcterra.
  • Arctic Spawn are an organism presumably indigenous to the planet Arcterra in the Tetra Galaxy. They are psychrophilic by nature, and therefore actually require low temperatures in order to survive, let alone thrive. They are territorial to the extreme — likely because of being apex predators — and will attack any perceived threat by hurling immobilizing shards of razor-sharp ice, which are so cold that they can instantly freeze a foe.

abstract
  • Arctic Spawn are an organism presumably indigenous to the planet Arcterra in the Tetra Galaxy. They are psychrophilic by nature, and therefore actually require low temperatures in order to survive, let alone thrive. They are territorial to the extreme — likely because of being apex predators — and will attack any perceived threat by hurling immobilizing shards of razor-sharp ice, which are so cold that they can instantly freeze a foe. For an unknown reason, they are in stark but nearly identical contrast to a similar creature known as the Fire Spawn, which may indicate that one or both species had been manipulated by the Alimbic before their mysterious disappearance. It has also been speculated that they have been exposed to some form of mutagenic substance, although it is not considered to be Phazon.
