In his major NASCAR career, Hirschman competed in seven Nationwide Series races. Hirschman's three other series starts would then unfurl during the 1992 schedule. However, it was a much tougher season for the driver than the year before. In his major NASCAR career, Hirschman competed in seven Nationwide Series races. Hirschman's Nationwide debut came in 1991, when he finished 58th in the year-end points with just four starts. His first race, though, did not go as well as he hoped. Starting 18th at Nazareth, Hirschman fell a number of laps down and struggled to a 28th place finish. He rebounded nicely, though, recording a career-best 11th place finish at Oxford Plains in his next start. Hirschman also competed in both Loudon races during the year, offsetting a last (44th) place finish in the July race with a solid 16th place run in the October show. Hirschman's three other series starts would then unfurl during the 1992 schedule. However, it was a much tougher season for the driver than the year before.
