Jealous, arrogant, and self-important, Gubukaru was a maho using goblin. He would often sneak into the Carpenter Wall and destroy shrines, food supplies, steal weapons stores, kill guards, and wreak havoc. Finally, a Kaiu trap lured him into a room where he and other goblins were burned alive. However, a Kitsu Sodan Senzo released Gubukaru's spirit from Jigoku and allowed him to wander as a yokai. He however, remained jealous of any maho-tsukai that appeared stronger than himself.
