Synopsis
| - Black Orchid disguises herself as female gang-member Roxanne to infiltrate a gang that is planning a diamond hiest. She foils it with little difficulty. Change focus to Ronne Kuhn, race-car driver, jet pilot, and heiress. Why does she have a Black Orchid costume?
- When the Earth is suddenly blanketed in total darkness, the cause is a source of speculation, however one local preacher blames a nun and believes that she has blasphemed against god. When he leads a mob to attack the nun, the Phantom Stranger is there to save her life and fend off the attackers.
The Stranger soon learns this is another plot by Dr. Nathaniel Seine to get revenge on the Stranger for the "murder" of his wife. When the Stranger confronts Sein, the two have a lengthy mystical battle, the Stranger fighting off all of Sein's mystical attacks. After Sein's defeat, the Stranger curses Sein to wear a necklace that renders him blind, and that he can only remove it once he renounces his madness and desire for revenge against the Stranger.
