The Great Schism was the ending point of several theological and political disputes between the Western (Latin) Church of Rome (who became the Catholic Church) and the Eastern (Greek) Church of Constantinople (who became the Orthodox Church of Constantinople). The Schism was a direct cause for the Religious Crisis of the VIII Century.
