Phillip the Tetrarch , also known as Herod Phillip, was son of Herod the Great and his fifth wife Cleopatra of Jerusalem. He was the half-brother of Herod Antipas and Herod Archelaus. Herod Philip is mentioned as being the tetrarch of Iturea and Traconitis, which comprised a northeast portion of the land that his father had ruled over before his death .
