| - "No, you don't!" The Doctor angrily yells at the TARDIS, grasping tightly to controls. The TARDIS is spinning out of control, sparks shoot out from around the control room and panels. The Doctor attempts to hang out with all his strength to not be tossed around the room. He yanks a lever and mashes several buttons, attempting to regain control of the TARDIS, which is groaning and wheezing. "No! No! No!!" He yells as the TARDIS speeds toward the surface of a planet in a crash landing. On the surface, a girl walks alone in the evening. Listening to an mp3 player and walking along a dirt path which divides a suburban housing community and a vast desert, she looks up, noticing an object in the night sky get brighter and brighter. The girl becomes concerned as the object appears to be falling from the sky and in her general direction. As the object comes down, the sound of a screeching and rumbling, she dives to the ground and enters a fetal position, covering her head. The object slams into the ground, sending dust and debris flying upwards. She looks up in awe. Something has crashed into a wash about fifty feet away from her. With a look of mixed fear and curiosity, she slowly steps towards the crater to see what crashed. To her surprise, a blue box, the TARDIS, sits tipped on its side in the center of the crater. "Holy sh.." She says to herself before being cut-off mid-sentence as the door to the TARDIS opens. The Doctor pops his head out, visibly worn from struggling to keep the TARDIS stable. He looks up at the girl and smiles. "Oh, hello!" The Doctor says in an excited tone. He grunts as he climbs out of the door and stands up. He brushes himself off of dust and straightens his outfit. The girl stares at him perplexed. The Doctor looks up at the sky and excitedly remarks, "Oh, Earth! Good, good, I love Earth! What year is it?" He takes out his sonic screwdriver and scans the girl, who silently stares at him in shock and confusion. "2005?! Well that's way off." The Doctor turns to inspect the TARDIS. "Uh... uhhhh... wha..." The girl is speechless. "Are... are you okay?" She asks the Doctor. "Oh yes, I'm fine." the Doctor happily responds. He points at the TARDIS with his sonic screwdriver, "She'll be okay too." He turns to climb back into the TARDIS but stops and turns back towards the girl, "I'm the Doctor by the way. Give me one moment." He climbs into the TARDIS. Suddenly, a struggled wheezing and groaning noise emits from the TARDIS, causing the girl to back away. The TARDIS uprights itself before making a loud depressurization sound and a thud. The Doctor walks back out and inspects the TARDIS. The girl stands behind him and clears her throat implying she is waiting for an explanation. The Doctor quickly turns around, "Oh right, you." He motions toward the TARDIS, "It'll be fine. I never did get your name." Still an expression of confusion on her face, "Uh... um... Alyssa." She attempts to see past the Doctor and into the TARDIS, her eyes widen.
* Scene Two: It's Bigger on the Inside The Doctor walks back into the TARDIS, with Alyssa slowly and carefully following, peaking through into the door. "It's... uh... it's..." She looks around at the interior. The Doctor looks at Alyssa, arms folded, leaning against the center control console, with a wide grin, waiting for her to say what he expects. "It's... bigger." She steps inside. "It's bigger on the inside." The Doctor chuckles, "Yes, yes it is! This is the TARDIS...". He is cut off by Alyssa. "Wait! Wait, wait, wait. I don't want to know. This is some experimental thing from up in Area 51. I don't wanna know anything cuz then I'll have like, feds following me around and bugging my phones and stuff." The Doctor quickly responds, "Oh no, no, this isn't a government experiment. Nothing to worry about. It's my ship." Alyssa quickly peaks outside to see if any other people are around who may have seen the crash. She closes the TARDIS door and stares at the Doctor. "Your ship? Like... space ship?" "Well yeah... and time machine." He answers. "You're an alien? In a suit and tie? Wait... time machine?! I tripped, fell, got knocked unconscious and am dreaming this right?" The Doctor pauses before replying, "Yes, yes, yes and no." Alyssa makes a confused look before catching on to his response, "You're an alien with a space ship time machine that looks like a wooden blue box with police written on it... why do you look human? Or is that like a special hologram camouflage to blend in? Or are you a shape-shifter?" "You sure do ask alot of questions." He says, amused. The Doctor flips a switch and the TARDIS lights dim. "It'll be a while before she can fly again. Anywhere we can go for something to eat? I'm willing to answer your questions. I do like the curious ones." Alyssa makes a quick giggle, "Ahah... well, Mr. Alien Doctor, welcome to Earth. There's actually alot of places to eat here. This is Las Vegas. Do you eat human food?" "Oh Alyssa... you are a funny one." He steps outside and looks around. "I'm just the Doctor. And yes, I find human cuisine quite nice." He quickly turns to her, "Did you say Las Vegas?! I love Las Vegas! All the lights and sights, nice party town too." "Yea... it is. Eventually I'll get to have fun. It's actually not all that special when you're sixteen." She replies in a disappointed tone. The Doctor laughs, "Oh, there's plenty to do in this good old town!" He grabs Alyssa's hand and they run up to the road. "Well, we are going to need a ride I suppose." The Doctor and Alyssa looks toward the main city in the distance. "Yea... it's like fifteen minutes driving to get to the Strip if that was your plan. This is Summerlin." She states, scratching her head. The Doctor takes a phone from his pocket and points his sonic screwdriver at it and places the phone to his ear. Alyssa looks at the sonic screwdriver with a confused look, "It's a sonic screwdriver... it does... sonic things." He tells her. She nods and motions 'Oooookay' with her lips. "Hello! Yes, I need a cab." The Doctor says into the phone, talking to a taxi service company. He turns and winks at Alyssa.
