  • The Second Mexican–American War was an armed conflict between the United States and Mexico which lasted from 1910 to 1915. Since the First Mexican-American War (1846-1848), the territories which had been annexed by United States in that war were claimed by Mexico, thus creating permanent tension between United States and Mexico. The war started in July 21, 1910, with the invasion of Texas by the Mexican Army.in 1911, the Mexican Army had advanced until the south of California.Brazil entered in the war in 1913, in the side of Mexico.Spain also entered, in 1914.in the same year, Cuba was annexed by Spain, thus ending the Cuban participation in the war.in the following year, the Americans launched a failed attack on Haiti, which in response attacked the state of Louisiana.at the moment, the most part of the Mexican territory lost in the First Mexican-American War had been recovered.Florida was annexed in January 1916, while Denmark declared war against Spain, which invaded the Danish West Indies, which were used by the Americans until that point. The outcome was the 1916 Treaty of New Orleans, which gave to Mexico all the territory ceded to United States in 1848, with the addition of the US state of Oregon and the state of Florida, and the exception of the south of California.Cuba was annexed by Spain, while the Danish West Indies remained a colony of Denmark. Hawaii, which was a territory of United States until that moment, was granted independency.
