Dedicated to studying the thought process of the human mind, the brain room is one of the quietest rooms in the Department of Mysteries. A long rectangular room with lanterns suspended from gold chains, the only furniture in the room is the large tank in the centre of a collection of desks. Within the tank of a green potion lies pearly white human brains which are used to study their thoughts and processes to give a better understanding about the magic within the wizarding world as well as how it can be harnassed to give a better result during spells. If the brains are removed from the potions, they throw out a streamer of thoughts which can wrap around a person and can seriously injure them.
