The African Telecommunications Union (ATU) (successor to the Pan African Telecommunications Union (PATU) and the African Postal and Telecommunications Union (APTU)) is a continental organization that combines countries and mobile telecommunications providers within Africa in an attempt to dramatically increase development of the information and communications technology (ICT) infrastructure in Africa.
