- Cadres are planetary organizations of people who are all members of the same profession (except the Spacers who can be found throughout the Frontier). There are cadres of teachers, miners, public transportation operators, and so forth. These cadres are constantly battling the mega-corps for more credits, more benefits, and more control over their occupations. Sometimes a cadre is honest, sometimes not, but lately many of them have been studying the renewed militancy with which the mega-corps pursue their goals. Some of the more powerful cadres, such as the Synthfood Workers or the Brotherhood of Spacers, may resort to their own brand of militancy to resolve differences in the future. Star Law is monitoring cadres carefully at the present time.
- In the show Justice League Unlimited episode "Clash" Cadre is shown. The group consists of Black Mass, Shatterfist, Crowbar, and Fastball and they fight Superman and Batman in Metropolis and are later defeated. Although this is the groups only appearence members appear later in the series.
- The Cadre is a group of Fae warriors blood-sworn to the Fae Queen Maeve.
- The Cadre is a mercenary group that came into conflict with S.H.I.E.L.D.
- An unnamed group of villains that assaulted Metropolis and was defeated by Batman and Superman. Three of its members were later seen as part of the Legion of Doom.
- A Cadre or Kau'ui in the Tau Lexicon is the basic organisational structure of the military forces of the Tau Empire. These Cadres are often combined into a collection of teams. There are many types of Tau Cadre, but by far the most common one is the versatile Hunter Cadre. It is a combined arms group, fielding infantry, Battlesuits and gunships together under the leadership of a Tau Commander. Most Cadres are standing formations, although their exact structure includes some variation depending upon the strategic needs of their Commander.
