After leaving Ellora’s Cave in 2005, Brashear launched her own electronic/small press publishing company, Samhain. With more than 20 years combined experience in office management, publishing and information technology, Brashear has strategically positioned her company on the fast track for growth and continued expansion. Drawing on her extensive knowledge of the romance novel market, she developed a strong business model for the start-up of Samhain. Under her direction, the company’s main focus is the production of quality products, providing excellent customer service, developing robust distribution channels for its small press product and forming partnerships with proven leaders in the publishing industry. Brashear’s leadership skills and strong insider knowledge of the electronic publishing / small press industry has enabled her to forge strategic partnerships with industry leaders such as Ingram Book Group and [[ Kensington] Publishing Corporation. With her strategic planning and leadership skills, Brashear has directed Samhain’s exponential growth through these key relationships. Since its start up, the company has published approximately 530 electronic titles and 200 trade paperbacks with continued growth in the romantic fiction market.
