Ullikummi posed a threat to the gods who dwelt in the heavens, but none of them could harm it. The gods considered abandoning their dwelling, but Ea noticed where Ullikummi's feet were positioned. Ullikummi's feet were cut off with a copper saw by the god Ea, causing the giant to topple and be destroyed. Ullikummi was specifically made out of volcanic rock.
