A past Patrician of Ankh-Morpork, whose main claim to infame was passing a law clamping down exaggeration in descriptive writing and attempting to introduce some honestly into reporting. He was eventually killed by a disgruntled poet during an ill-fated experiment to find if there was any truth in the expression "the pen is mightier than the sword". In his memory, the phrase has since been amended: "only if the sword is very small and the pen is very sharp".
