- An ancient alien theorist from those documentaries on the History Channel, Dr. Ambushius Buggerton theorized that Superman was an alien invader who wanted to take over the world. He was right, obviously. One of his more popular theories was that Supergirl was a gender-swapped Superman. This was proven wrong, but Ambush Bug wouldn't believe it. So, he went on Arkhampedia and wrote the Supergirl article to promote his implausible hypothesis. Nobody cares.
- Ambush Bug is published by DC Comics. Cover price is $2.99.
- Ambush Bug is an adventurer who always seems to cause more trouble than good for those around him; regardless of whether he is with heroes or villains. Possessing a lack of linear logic, Schwab always seems to get caught up in complicated, universal events.

- Ambush Bug was a superhero that was more of a pest than an actual help to other heroes like the Justice League and the Doom Patrol. Whenever there was a crisis in town, such as a supervillain attack on Metropolis or a deadly earthquake, one thing was for certain, that if Ambush Bug is on the job to save the day, chances are he'll just make things worse. Ambush Bug's sense of reality is quite warped, and he sees the world in a far different way than his superhero peers, even his origin story cannot be considered reliable, as it is most likely just one of his delusions.
- A character from The DCU, created by comic book writer/artist Keith Giffen, Ambush Bug is the Cloudcuckoolander secret identity of Irwin Schwab, a man raised solely on TV who one day discovered a green teleportation suit that was sent within a capsule from a doomed planet (or so he claims.) He has starred in several critically acclaimed mini-series, though he is pretty much on the fringe of the comic universe he inhabits. The closest Marvel Comics equivalent would likely be Deadpool, with a dash of Squirrel Girl thrown in, though Ambush appeared before either of them.
- Ambush Bug's true name was supposedly Irwin Schwab, but it must be noted that he suffered from mental problems that prevented him from truly understanding reality around him, so even his true identity might be no more than a delusion on his part. His origin is disputed, although the most commonly accepted origin is that Brum-El of the planet Schwab sent his clothes from his supposedly doomed planet, hoping that his wardrobe would survive, only to have it intercepted by a giant radioactive space spider. In the resulting crash, only two articles of clothing survived: the Ambush Bug suit, which was subsequently found by Irwin Schwab, and Argh!Yle!, an argyle sock with a metal mask.
