At the end of the tournament, he fought Pridak, Ehlek, and Carapar, but retreated to their secret base.

Rex and Ikonox were a team in the Tag-Team Tournament and defeated Bitil and Chirox in the first round. In the second round they combined to form Serpentak, who overwhelmed Tahu and Kopaka. At the end of the tournament, he fought Pridak, Ehlek, and Carapar, but retreated to their secret base. Rex, Ikonox, Sahmad, and Firenze stormed the Dark Hunter base in order to retrieve 2 pieces of Golden Armor. Rex and Ikonox combined again and defeated Sidorak easily. They made off with the armor, but Sahmad and Firenze were prevented from ever combining again. In the final battle, Rex took on the Rockoh X3, Chirox, and Tahu and was defeated by the might spaceship. Tahu managed to convince him that Vezon was using them to gain power. Rex and the other Somets joined the leaders on their way to battle Teridax and Vezon. They were stopped by Load, but the Somets challenged it to buy the leaders time. Rex blocked the inital attack, and then combined into Serpentak with Ikonox. The combined BIONICLE was the last one standing, but still vastly overpowered and was seperated. Rex and Ikonox were killed before they had another chance.
