Considered a godsend by the Kanian merchant community and the middle-class, Bragge saved the nation from imminent economic peril which was made worse by Ashmead's decision to support a war in North America helping the British hold onto their colonies, a venture that proved fruitless in the end. Bragge withdrew the troops in 1779, citing that the economic situtation in Kania could not support the fight. The economic crisis and Revolutionary War absorbed most of President Bragge's time and energy. He carefully balanced the budget and put to work freed slaves emancipated by Kanian troops in America, and sent to Kania.

abstract
| - Considered a godsend by the Kanian merchant community and the middle-class, Bragge saved the nation from imminent economic peril which was made worse by Ashmead's decision to support a war in North America helping the British hold onto their colonies, a venture that proved fruitless in the end. He refused to run for a second term despite the urging of his party and the federal senate. He stated that he wanted "to be remembered as a man who left Kania a little tidier than when he found it." Solomon Bragge died in 11 July 1819 in his homestate of Gad, at the age of 82. While not the longest ruling president of Kania, nor the most remarkable, Bragge's efforts to save the nation from it first set of major challenges and helped it to grow into a more successful federal repbulic.
