- In this state, Super Sonic can fly and his speed and strength are greatly increased. He is also virtually invincible. This transformation tends to use "positive" Chaos energy and thus can also help overwhelm beings powered by "negative" energy. Super Sonic is also capable of using Chaos Control. - Super Sonic is a super alter-ego of Sonic the Hedgehog and a protagonist who appears in the series of Sonic and also Archie Comic. In Fleetway Sonic the Comic, he is an villain and an aggresive dark form caused by the rage by the Chaos Emeralds, in Super Sonic vs. Super Sonic, Sonic turns into a good version of Super Sonic to face his demon side Fleetway Super Sonic and imprisoned him into a Emerald Prison. In the video games, Sonic can uses 50 rings or more to transform into Super Sonic with the Chaos Emeralds, into Hyper Sonic with 7 Super Emeralds.
- After Sonic had recovered the Chaos Emeralds following his first victory over Dr. Robotnik, he tried to find a safe place for them where they would be beyond anyone's reach. Before he could do that, however, the energy of the emeralds destabilized and the stones vanished in a flash of light, warping back to the Special Zone where Sonic had collected them. When the emeralds vanished, they released a burst of Chaos energy that struck Sonic and transformed him into an uncontrollable being of immeasurable power. This was the birth of Super Sonic, a violent, destructive alter-ego of the heroic Sonic. Before he could hurt anyone, however, Sonic took flight and catapulted himself across the planet Mobius, soon coming to crash in an uninhabited zone. He returned to normal quickly after, but would
- Sonic first gained his ability to turn into Super Sonic shortly after meeting Knuckles. He had pickpocketed Knuckles, who conveniently had all seven Chaos Emeralds in his back pocket. Sonic took them, and he started playing with them. The Wise Ones then descended upon him (like my fancy words?), and they told him if he combined their power, he would be granted legendary powers. Sonic told them that was BS, and tried it.
- In the actual story canon, Sonic only needs to use the power of the seven Chaos Emeralds to turn into Super Sonic. While he doesn't need to collect fifty rings to trigger the transformation because, for most games after Sonic Adventure, he automatically starts with them. The rings slowly deplete as they sustain the super form. Once Super Sonic is out of rings, he will revert back to Sonic. Though, it is possible for Sonic to indefinitely hold his transformation-- in Sonic Advance, he kept it for almost a week. It is shown that Super Sonic is faster than the speed of light in Sonic Rush. Though Sonic is already faster than the speed of light, therefore one cannot imagine how fast he is. Burning Blaze is shown to have the speed to escape from a black hole/dimensional rift (not even light can
- Super Sonic (スーパーソニック Sūpā Sonikku?) is the Super State of Sonic the Hedgehog, achieved by harnessing the power of the seven Chaos Emeralds. Since Super Sonic's first appearance in Sonic the Hedgehog 2, this form has been Sonic's most commonly used transformation.

- Super Sonic is a powered-up form of Sonic the Hedgehog, a psychotic demon-like entity who manifests himself in Sonic's body under conditions of extreme stress or exposure to chaos energy. Sonic frequently had to battle to keep this alter-ego in check, because Super Sonic's immense destructive powers, hyperaggression, sadistic humour and lack of restraint frequently endangered innocent civilians and even Sonic's own friends. Indeed, Super Sonic seems to enjoy the prospect of killing Sonic's friends: in Point of No Return! he deliberately holds back to prolong the pleasure of killing them (meaning that he is far more powerful and more ruthless then he lets on).
